Baxter published a bulletin on July 23, 2021, citing CERT/CC Vulnerability Note VU#383432. All versions of ExactaMix compounders contain the Windows operating system and are therefore impacted by CVE-2021-34527, the PrintNightmare Windows Print Spooler remote code execution vulnerability. Listed are ExactaMix 1200 v1.1, v1.2, v1.4 and v1.5 and ExactaMix 2400 v1.10, v1.11, v1.13 and v1.14.
PrintNightmare abuses the Print Spooler service to run code with SYSTEM privileges. Ask Baxter whether the spooler can be turned off on units that do not print before waiting on a vendor-validated patch.
