Thermo Fisher Scientific published a bulletin on May 15, 2026 for CVE-2026-41085, a privilege escalation vulnerability in Torrent Suite Dx software 5.14.2 and earlier. Penetration testing found the flaw, which Thermo Fisher describes as critical.

An authenticated user with limited privileges could gain administrator-level access and modify settings, software or data on the instrument. A security update is available for version 5.14.2, and earlier versions must be upgraded to 5.14.2 first.

Until the update lands, every account on the instrument is effectively an administrator account. Trim the user list now.
