Philips posted an advisory on March 10, 2021, naming four imaging and data products that use F5 technology after F5 disclosed CVE-2021-22986, CVE-2021-22987, CVE-2021-22991 and CVE-2021-22992. Listed products are the Clinical Collaboration Platform (formerly called Vue PACS), IntelliSpace PACS versions 3.6, 4.1, 4.4, 4.4.551 and 4.4.553, Universal Data Manager (UDM) versions 1.1, 2.1 and 3.1, and VueBeyond.
Philips described the F5 alert as four critical CVEs plus three related ones, two high and one medium. Its teams were evaluating Philips products and solutions that use F5 for potential impact and validating actions.
When an F5 appliance fronts a PACS, its flaws become the archive's exposure, whoever wrote the PACS code. The owner of the load balancer has to be in the patch conversation from day one.
