Philips published an advisory on August 9, 2022, after F5 released a security alert covering several critical vulnerabilities in the BIG-IP product line. Philips listed IntelliSpace PACS and Universal Data Manager 1 (UDM) as the related products.

F5 had already released mitigations to help eliminate the vulnerabilities when Philips posted the notice. The Philips notice names no individual CVE, so F5's own alert is the working document for whoever patches the appliance.

Apply F5 mitigations. Implement F5's published mitigations on BIG-IP appliances in front of IntelliSpace PACS and UDM 1.
Verify with Philips. Confirm the F5 changes are supported for your PACS and UDM configuration.
Review exposure. Check that BIG-IP management interfaces are not reachable from clinical networks.
Record the versions. Keep the F5 software versions in the PACS component inventory.
