On March 27, 2025, Philips posted a notice on IngressNightmare, a Kubernetes advisory covering four critical vulnerabilities: CVE-2025-1974, CVE-2025-24514, CVE-2025-1098 and CVE-2025-1097. All four affect the Ingress NGINX Controller for Kubernetes. Focal Point v2.1 is the listed product.

The notice shows that a clinical alarm platform now ships on Kubernetes, and the cluster ingress is part of its attack surface. Container platform patches belong in the device maintenance plan, with the same urgency as Windows patches.

Update the Ingress NGINX Controller in the Focal Point v2.1 cluster through Philips service. Make sure the admission controller is not reachable from outside the cluster.

Confirm the cluster. Identify the Kubernetes cluster and ingress controller version behind Focal Point v2.1.
Patch the ingress. Apply the fixed Ingress NGINX Controller release with Philips.
Close the admission webhook. Keep the admission controller reachable only from the Kubernetes API server.
