Philips issued a notice on May 21, 2026 naming Advanced Visualization Workspace V15 (881001) as affected by CVE-2026-42945, a critical vulnerability in F5 NGINX. The flaw affects both NGINX Plus and NGINX Open Source.

An embedded web server is easy to forget because nobody bought it on purpose. Philips says it is monitoring the issue; the notice names no fixed build.

Philips names no fixed build for Advanced Visualization Workspace V15 in the notice. Operators should restrict access to the workstation's web services to the networks that need them and request the Philips-authorized update for CVE-2026-42945.

Limit web exposure. Allow HTTP and HTTPS to Advanced Visualization Workspace only from clinical reading stations that need it.
Request the update. Ask Philips service when a validated NGINX fix for V15 is available.
Record NGINX in the SBOM. Track the embedded web server version so the next NGINX advisory is answered quickly.
