KARL STORZ issued a security notice on November 4, 2024 for CVE-2024-38063, the Windows TCP/IP remote code execution vulnerability. All software versions of the WD300 AIDA and WD310 AIDA C are IPv6 capable with IPv6 enabled by default, and are thus potentially affected.
The flaw sits in how Windows processes IPv6 traffic, so exposure follows the protocol setting rather than any AIDA application feature. KARL STORZ recommends disabling IPv6 on these products.
Where the operating room network does not route IPv6, turning it off on the AIDA removes the attack path at no functional cost.
