bioMérieux updated its NextGen Mirth Connect advisory on April 3, 2024 for CVE-2023-43208, which affects Mirth Connect 4.4.0 and prior versions. The company describes Mirth Connect as a third-party, open-source healthcare data integration platform.
bioMérieux says exploitation could allow an attacker to gain unauthorized access to or to compromise data. Its investigations found many products unaffected, but some products do include versions of NextGen Mirth Connect that are vulnerable.
No product names appear in the public advisory, and bioMérieux reports no evidence of exploitation on its products. An integration engine is the bridge between lab instruments and hospital systems, so the version check belongs to whoever owns that interface.
