BD published a third-party bulletin on June 15, 2020 for CVE-2020-0796, a remote code execution vulnerability in the Microsoft SMBv3 protocol affecting Windows 10. BD lists the FACSAria Fusion, II and III, FACSCanto 10-color and II, FACSCelesta, FACSLink, FACSLyric, FACSMelody, FACS SPA, FACSymphony A3, A5 and S6, LSRFortessa and LSR II.

BD is testing the patch for the listed products that use Windows 10. Cytometer workstations share result files over SMB as a matter of routine, which puts the vulnerable protocol on the busiest path in the lab.

File sharing on an instrument workstation should face only the hosts that collect its data.
